Throwback Thursday

Well the other day I had to make a quick and I mean quick birthday card for a birthday party my daughter was invited to.

So I thought about the theme of her party, her nick name and made this cute little cupcake card.

Little Miss Riley was turning 4. I tried to make a banner of cupcakes, but it really didn't turn out that great. Little Miss Riley liked it and the cool present so I think it was a hit.

I used paper from SEI (Corine line), the blue and red, were just in my stash. Since she's not into PINK that much they did the color of the party blue and red. So I think this turned out really cute for her.

I used the lite cartridge Cupcake - which just happens to be the theme for Emma's Throwback Thursday. Yes, I looked at that before I made the card (teeeheee). The requirements were to use a lite cartridge and bling. Well I blinged out the cupcakes with stickles.

You can enter or visit her at www.creativetimeforme.com.

Thanks for stopping and

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #34 - Father's day Sketch

Ok I know this doesn't say Father's day on the card, but I think my brother who is a wonderful guy but doesn't have any kiddos of his own deserves a card on father's day too. I don't know if he will ever be a father but why should we exclude uncles too? There isn't a holiday set aside for uncles.

When I was blessed to have a daughter 2 1/2 years ago he was living near us in TX. He took off work just to be there for the birth of his niece. He was so excited to be an uncle and you could just see the pride in his eyes.

Well we all moved away from TX and he lives about 4 hours from us now - he comes up and visits his niece any time he can. Can I just say he LOVES that little girl and she LOVES her UNKIE DANNY. Yes UNKIE Danny is what she calls him.

I cut this little card as an A2 size -

I used:

The cartridge Campin Critter

Wild card (I love the torn/burnt look of the card) it reminded me of my brother when I was a child and some of the crazy stuff he did.

I cut then a 4x4 square of green paper - ran it through my new toy... and embossed it with the little diamond pattern.

The circle is custom from a paper stack by DCWV.
The deer is cut from scraps of paper.

I had to use an Orange fish - to make it look like a goldfish (yes another childhood story).

The cut for the deer is at 2 1/2 "

The #1 Uncle stamp is from Emma at http://www.creativetimeforme.com/ (Oh I just love her stamps).

Hope you enjoy and

My last SEI iron on project (for now).

Ok so I'm running out of my SEI iron on monsters. I have mainly used every piece.

I made a cute little card. The card is A2 size cut out of Kraft card stock.
SEI Monsterville paper

SEI Pink
Some pretty little ribbon

The stamp sentiment is from Emma's (http://www.creativetimeforme.com/) "turn that frown upside down". I thought it would be cute for this little card. I put the mouth on upside down on purpose to make it look like this cutie was frowning.

Maybe this little monster is frowning because he just go braces? I don't know but I had to laugh at it because it made me smile.

More SEI monster fun.

OK, I am officially addicted this these little monster iron ons. I love them. I just can't wait for my Target to get some.

I played around and made a simple layout.

My daughter would always run around the house pretending like she was a monster. I remember this day - and she was just a sweet little monster. It was so cute. She even will tell you she's a monster.

She earned the monster nickname when she was just a few weeks old. She would put her arms up and make a little noise. It was so sweet.

I used SEI papers, the iron on and the monster sentiments.

I had only a few of the monster pieces left so I used them here.

I hope you enjoy

Monster Bag

Ok so a little secret. My hubby actually made this bag - he wanted to play since he saw the cutie I made. He positioned the pieces and I ironed them on.

I had to laugh where he put the band- aid. It was so cute. I love this. I found it neat to add the additional teeth and just made this little monster so cute.

I had a canvas bag that has something on the front of it. So I allowed him to create this on the back. The bag is something alot of other ladies take to crops so I will always know which bag is mine.

I love these little monsters and these little iron ons. I went to my local Target today and they didn't have them yet. I so need to get a few more. I can think of a few other things I want to get.

Well I hope you enjoy.

SEI my own monster towel

Ok so we all know how much I LOVE SEI - I mean I love SEI.

I bought these cute little monster iron sheets at the local convention recently - and just adore these. I bought them for the sole purpose and that was to make something for my daughter. When she was really small she would put her arms up and "grumble" like a monster. She earned the nickname "Monster". I know, I know that isn't very nice. Well she was a cute little monster and so when I found these I needed to make something for her.

So off to a local store today in search for something cheap to buy that I could turn into something adorable.
I found this beach towel - which is perfect size for a toddler. Mind you I paid $1.50 for the towel. So I think this project not only is ADORABLE but was very cheap. I spent less than $7.00 for this project.

Go and check out the other SEI My own Monster projects. Have fun.

Monthly Challenge - On the road again. *** Warning lots of photos**

This is for the Monthly Cricut Challenge - it was to make some thing for you or your kids to take on those long summer road trips. It had to include at least 2 images (well I think I have more than the required 2 images).

This challenge was for sure a challenge for me. My daughter is 2 1/2 and is well on her way to learning her ABC'S. So I thought this would be perfect for her to learn and use on the road trips (mainly to Chicago). This book was so much fun to make. I made it using allot of Create a Critter cuts. Did you know you can do almost the alphabet with that cartridge? Well you can.

The challenge wasn't cutting or anything like that. It was simply trying to figure out what images a 2 1/2 year old will know. There was a few items I really wanted but didn't have the cartridge.

Did you also know how hard it was to find a "Q" image? Yes really - very hard.

I used allot of scrap papers from my stash - I didn't embellish it much for a couple of reasons 1- its for a 2 1/2 year old - 2. I was planning on running through "YOUR STORY" lamina tor so I didn't want it too thick.

Cuts:
All letters cut from Birthday Bash with the font/shadow feature - at 2"
The images were cut at 3" -- with a shadow feature.
I then put all the images on Coordination's cardstock - and glued the image to the back and the letter to the front.
I think my favorite pages are the Elephant,Octopus, the Train - oh and the GNS is her initals, and the zebra.

I think most of them turned out really cute.

I used my Your story to put together and make it more stable, and then put in rings to hold it together and make it an easy flip book.

Once, I finished it I asked my daughter to name the objects. She did pretty good, only missing a few like the Jacket, the quilt, and the X-ray. So I would say this is a huge success. Well I guess the only real test will be the road trip.

Thanks for looking and

Make it your way - Cricut Challenge

This challenge was to create something your way.

I saw this photo in a magazine a while back and just loved the layout. I changed up the flourish and the flowers and the color pattern I stayed with just one paper line SEI and used the Jocelyn paper.

The orginal layout was done by Josee Grandbois, from the Memory Makers October 2006 Magazine. Yes I keep old issues but I cheat I tear out the pages I like and bind them together. This layout was simple and 1 photo. I love the stripes on the side, the flowers, and the flourish.

Products used: SEI paper - Jocelyn

Riot Pink, Chocolate Fix and BTW plum glitter paper. The ironic thing is the paper in the orginal was also SEI - Winnie Walls.

Some misc buttons, and stickles

Cuts:

the Flourish at 2 1/4" layered from Cindy Loo

The flowers at 2" from Kate's ABC -

The box on the side will be for journalling, I am the WORST for that - will do my photo and then go back and journal.

I love this photo of my daughter and a sweet and dear friend took it for me when my daughter turned 2.
