Paper Secrets Sketch Challenge - LUCKY

I love a good challenge sketch layout and this site: http://paper-secrets.blogspot.com/2014/03/march-15th-sketch-challenge-lucky.html is no different. They have fantastic challenges and so much fun. This challenge was to use this Sketch:

There is a twist though - you have to use the word LUCKY in your challenge.

I will sometimes just use a sketch as a base and build from it sometimes I like to follow the sketch. Well as you can see this time I followed the sketch and made a few small changes.

Here are my items for LUCKY:
L - Lined patterned paper - by Imaginsice
U - Uni ball gel pen
C - Chalk
K- Kid (yes she's my kiddo).
Y- Yellow Cardstock

I used the fun collection from Imaginisce Welcome Spring.  I just loved this paper and these sweet little bunnies are adorable. I actually fussy cutted a set of bunnies and put some foam dots behind them for more dimension.

Hope you enjoy  ~

S.W.A.T - Drill #6

So I came across a fun and new challenge. This one is from S.W.A.T. -- (Scrapbook Warriors Advanced Training). The drill is to create a layout using the following sketch.

We all know I love great sketches and challenges.

I love to change things up on the sketch and this was no different.

The cream back ground paper is bazzill
The herringbone paper is from imaginisce paper - Hugs & Kisses.
The dark pink is from bazzill
The light pink/orange color is actually from SEI

I cut 4 scallop circles one at 8, 6,4,3 and inked the edges with chalk ink.

The button stripe is from Die - Namics dies - button set.

The tickets are from Fun Ticket stamp and coordinating die by Emma at http://my-creative-time.com/.

Hope you enjoy and if you would like to partisipate in the S.W.A.T drills/challenges go here: http://swatscrapwarriorsadvancedtraining.blogspot.com/.

Throwback Thursday

Well it's been a while since I played in a Throwback Thursday Challenge so here is my card. I have a friend who's birthday is coming up so I wanted to make a card to match the sucker bouquet that I make too.
This challenge was to use an older cartridge and make a frame. I thought this was pretty fun. My friend isn't too girly and loves stripes and polka dots.

Old West -  shadow and frame layer cut at 4 1/2"

It is suppose to go up and down but I thought this would work out better for the sentiment I was going to use.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Emma's stamps - called Polka Dot surprise. I have used that set 2 times this week already. It is one of my favorites.

Paper is from imaginisce  - Happy Camper line.
I added a few rhinestones and some stitching on the rope.

Hope you enjoy and
Happy Scrappin'

3D Object using a soup can

So for this weeks challenge at PKS was to use a soup can and make a 3d object. I have near and dear friend having a birthday in a few weeks so I figured I'd made something for her.
I used a soup can that was cleaned and made this cute little sucker bouquet.

Create a Critter - cats - cut at 3" w/ all layers (except I hide the face so I can put PKS faces on them).
Create a Critter - pinwheels- cut at 4" - w/ shadow and layer - I attached those to the suckers to make a cute little bouquet.
Create a Critter - circle (from the pin wheel) - at 3" and used the real dial size for the lid.

The dot/stripe is from imaginisce.

PKS face - Happy Lashes and Critter faces.

Hope you enjoy and

NOVEMBER MONTHLY CHALLENGE: Signs of Fall with Texture Challenge!

The Cricut circle monthly blog challenge was to make something "Fall" with a touch of texture. The rules were to create any type of project you would like (tag, altered project, mini album, etc.) but your project must be newly created for this challenge and include atleast 2 Cricut Image Cuts. I instantly thought about the photos that were taken last year of my daugther, Genevieve - she had just turned 2 and our regular photographer found this great little place with lots of pretty leaves, and great old buildings. My mom bought this dress and it was so cute so I just had to put it on her. I loved this dress and the photos turned out perfectly.

This challenge I used some Imaginisce paper -- too cute. (The little stripped back ground)

The red, orange, brown is all from Bazill - the kraft is from Joanns.

I cut out the shape from Art Philosophy initally I was going to use the stripe shapped back ground but then used the "negative" cut to create this which I love. This was designed on my gypsy and cut at approx 11.00.

The leaves were cut from different sizes from Autumn Celebrations so was the word Fall. I haven't used that cartridge much but I really like it. Very nice little fonts, easy to layer and just cute.

I added texture by embossing the acorn, the tree, and also "dry" embossing the stems on the leaves.

I really enjoyed making this layout and just love how it turned out.

Hope you enjoy -

Weekly Challenge #44: Mini Album Challenge!

I've taken a couple of weeks off from doing alot of challenges. I've been really busy and the rest of the year will be no different. I know I'm busy for the next several weekends. Some family stuff and some crafty stuff.

This week I was thinking about an idea and it just happened to be something I could use for the Weekly Challenge with the Cricut Circle Blog - this week was to make a Mini Album.

The requirements were to use at least 2 cricut cuts and create a mini album.

A few months ago I came across this blog and found out that he actually is the person who created Campin' Critters. He is hosting a little Cartridge Callenge using of course Campin Critters. You should go check out Curt's blog here's the address: http://typecastcreative.blogspot.com/.

This would EXPLAIN why on the E2 /HSN Banner Contest he has this http://scrappinwiththebug.blogspot.com/2011/09/hsn-banner-contest.html hung on his cubile.

We recently went to a Covered Bridge festival in Rockville Indiana - and we stayed in an RV and went "camping". I didn't get a ton of photos so I only made a few different pages. Can I say one of my favorite cartridges has to be Campin' Critters? I love love love this cartridge. I have used it to make a Banner for the E2 HSN launch using this cartridge.

My favorite cuts on the the cartridge has to be the Moose Taking photos and the porcupine roasting marshmellows. I also love the shadow feature and the way the cuts are always perfect aligning on this cartridge.

I welded the Moose to a 5x5 square and cut him out again to make the top and bottom pages.
The rest of the pages are just cut at 5x5 and put a little 3x3 photo mat on it.
The animals very in size.

I also love Flocking the antlears on the Moose and using Google eyes. I think it just gives it a little more movement and fun.

I added a few stickles here and there like on the flame and on the marshmellow.

The paper is from Imaginisce, Happy Camper Line. Which when it was released I had searched all over the place for it. I love the cute yet pretty paper. I fell in love with this paper and is a really close 2nd to being my favorite paper line.
