S.W.A.T. Drill #5

So I am partaking in another S.W.A.T drill - which is #5. To dig deep into your stash and make something using your stash and make it look new.

Well I loved this fun little photo "collage" of my daughter but I often rotate my photos out - so I cut this collage apart after all it's only a few years old. I then re created a new layout using the photos. I used some older paper that I had and don't even remember the line. I think it's Bella Blvd but don't quote me on it. I also used an older Cricut cartridge to make the musical notes - those are from Chore chart and 3 Birds on parade.

I added a few new embellishments that I've had for a few months now. I added a sweet little white ruffle from Maya Road and some rhinestones.

I love the cute little title and the photos of my little one is just perfect for this paper, and saying.

BEYOND EXCITED!!!!

Happy Sunday!!! I hope your weekend was fun and relaxing.  I  am beyond thrilled to be selected as part of the 2013 Scrappy Chic design team. Scrappy Chic is a local scrapbooking store here in SE MI.

I will say this is a dream come true.

I was selected as one of 4 design team members for the 2013 year.

To be selected as part of the design team we had to submit 3 different layouts with specific conditions, and if we wanted to an altered art project.

Layout #1 –Titled: Social Butterfly – The objective here was to use only solid papers in an innovative way. I used bold colors coordinating with the photo, large cut shapes, and  a few Cricut cuts dressed up with some stickles.

Layout #2 – Titled:  You Are – The goal here was to use at least 5 different manufactures. I used Echo park paper, bazzill cardstock, cord’inations cardstock, twine, and hero arts.

Layout #3 – Titled: Happy Girl – This was to use mainly one manufacture but at least 4 different items from them. I used My Minds eye. I used the paper, a die cut, brads, rub on, and stickers.

Altered Project – Since I used my alter project for the DT try outs and also then used it to showcase a fun project on the Cricuts Fantastic blog I'll wait to post details regarding that later.

I am thankful and excited to be apart of a great team who loves and supports Scrappy Chic. I will say some of these projects were challenging yet they turned out to be some of my FAVORITE projects I've made.

Hope you enjoy and

PKS Color challenge

So this weeks Challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps was to use this color combination. I must say this was a HUGE challenge for me as I normally don't use these colors, however, my daughter had this dress on today that helped. This cute little pillow case dress was made by a Cricut Circle friend Linda made an adorable dress for my daugther a few weeks ago. I just now put it on her and thought this was a perfect chance to photo and use a layout in the color challenge.

*** This fabric was super hard to find so if your looking  good luck**** It took us 6 stores in 3 states to find it.  :)

I used some Cord'nations paper that I bought at the scrapbook show a few weeks ago. It had the purple, a green (the green is actually a dark green but for some reason it keeps photoing like a "lime" color), and gray in the package. I found some teal/aqua from my stash - and the darker blue is from SEI.

Since my daughter loves to "flutter" around the house like a butterfly/bird and never really stays put I thought it would be fun to make these cute butterfly birds. I also loved the saying.

Cartridge - 3 Birds on parade - birds cut at 2 1/2, and 2 both w/ layer/shadow
Arts Philosophy - Square 8 - cut at 10" (which is the dotted blue layer).
Arts Philosophy - banners cut at 1"
PKS stamps for the birds eyes/smiles Critter faces.
PKS stamp for "You're a doll" from the Vivienne and friends

I hope you enjoyed and this was really a challenge but I always love the PKS challenges.

Hope you enjoy and

Blogiversary Challenge - Cuttlebug Challange

For this Challenge it was to use the cuttlebug machine and 2 different Cricut cuts. I have a sweet friend who will be having a birthday in a few days. So I went ahead and made this cute little card for her Birthday. I used the "Happy Birthday" cuttlebug folder. I love that folder. The little bird is cut from 3 Birds on Parade - with the shadow function. I used some purple twine, a button, and lots of stickles. I used purple and gold stickles. It sparkles just like my friend's personality.

The inside says, "Sweet Birthday Wishes"from Pink by Desin stamp called Take the Cake.

I will say I have figured a little trick rather than cutting the little legs, beak out. If you cut the "base" bird out of yellow you won't have to worry about tiny pieces.

JULY MONTHLY CHALLENGE: Let’s Eat Challenge!

On the Cricut Circle blog this month the challenge was to create a project with your choice of BBQ, Picnic, or Patio theme and use the gingham/check pattern.

Normally my hubby and I have some kind of BBQ during the year, this year was no different we had friends over for BBQ and hubby made some wonderful Ribs and smoked a Brisket. Yummy. So I thought I would make this layout -- the only thing is I forgot to take photos, but no worries my friend did take a few just waiting for her to get back home from Germany to share them with me.

I used some new paper that I recently bought - it is from Cutmates, and is so awesome to use on the machines. The paper cuts really smooth and w/o any issues.

The cuts are all from 3 Birds on Parade - love love love the cute cartridge.

The large Bird BBQing is cut at 4", so is the grill.

The momma bird cut at 3.5

The baby bird cut at 3.0

The butterflies are cut at 2.5" (one cut regular and one flipped).

The little buttfly cut at 2.0"

I used the Red/Pink Gingham paper from some of my stash - I think I bought it at Tuesday Morning a while back.

The ribbon is from Joann.

The smoke is some swirled rhinestones from my stash.

The grass is done using Martha Stewart -- Drippy Goo punch

Hope you enjoy
