The last challenge of 2013..

So we all know how much I love a scrapbook challenge with a sketch. So over at http://3scrappyboys.typepad.com/ they are having a challenge using the sketch above. I love sketches and using them as a starting point for layouts.

This layout is using paper from Carta Bella - Homemade with love collection.   I will admit when I first saw this paper I knew instantly I had to have it and wanted to make  a fun layout with my daughter making her first gingerbread 'house' aka train.

This has now become a fun family tradition. She loves making gingerbread houses and stuff.

I used the basics for the sketch but added 3 photos however I used the paper stripes, and then the fun little epoxy stickers. I added a fun little heart paperclip from Webster's pages. I also used my cricut and cut the word Family Tradition from the Teresa Collins - cartridge - Sophisticated.

I will say I love using my home printer to print these "wallet" sized photos. As you can see from the changes I added a few more photos - but still kept a little angle.

The "journaling" is fun little words from My Minds eye.

Hope you enjoy and

I took my inspiration from those cute Halloween signs -the Witch is in/out. I thought those were really fun and thought this would be a GREAT thing for the Christmas holiday.

Cartridges used:
Teddy Bears on Parade - Elf Bear cut at 8" w/ layers
Arts Philosophy  - Base square cut at fit to page (11"), the little tag square is cut at 4"
Arts Philosophy - Banner cut at 1"
Sophisticated - Letters - small - 3/4", 1", and the sign letters cut at 3"

I added a little wire to the "shop" banner and curled the edges.

Paper is from SEI Glitzmas line -

What would a blog hop be without some blog candy. I will be giving away 2 prize packs. I will be drawing 2  winners on Tuesday 11/13 - via Random.org.

Hope you enjoy and

Weekly Challenge #37: Technique Challenge!

This week on the Cricut Circle blog challege is to use one of the techniques they spotlighted over the past week.
They showed how to use letter stickers to create textured patterned paper of sorts to cut shapes from. Cutting shapes wilth vellum and use machine to emboss them. Then the used beads and glitter to dress up Cricut cuts. They showed how to use a crayon resist technique and spray mist. Then finally they showed how to use Copics to give your projects depth/deminsion.

What great ideas let me just say. I loved them all. I did try a few of them and really liked them. Some I will need more practice before I get the courage to share.

Well I used a couple of techniques to make this card. I used the vellum to make the cuts and emobossed them. Then I used my copics on the vellum to "outline" the butterflies and to give a little accent.

I made this little card for a friend as a just because card.

It is a standard A2 card - 4.25x5.5

I used sophisticated cartridge for all of these cuts.
The large flowers cut at 2"
The small flowers are the centers of the cuts
The butterflies are cut at 1" using vellum
The frame for the sentiment is cut at height of 1.5".

I folded the wings of the butterflies to give it more deminsion.
The paper is from the new paper line called Paper Layerz by Megan Elizabeth (AKA Megan from Above Rubies Studio) *** Plug time*** can I just say this paper is new and is Wonderful. I just bought this paper and it is so smooth cutting, the colors were beautiful. This paper is called Happy Dots/ Perfect Gems.

The sentiment is Pink by Design - from the set Jump & Jive.

I used Dots for the embossing folder and R32 Copic to outline/fill spots on the butterfly.

Hope you enjoy
