OH my how I've missed doing challenges!!! This week over at Peachy Keen Stamps blog they are hosting a color challenge. I needed to make a card for a baby shower I was going to so I thought the cute little duck die/stamp set I bought a few months back was perfect. After all the little one is hatching soon. :) My friends have elected not to find out the gender of the little one so I wanted to make a card that would fit either.
Then I remembered seeing the color/photo insipration theme from PKS and thought this paper would be PERFECT!! It is Echo Park Paper called Hello Summer. I just love the fun pretty colors of this paper it's awesome. (So much I bought 2 paper packs). My inspiration from the photo was the colors and if you look carefully - you can see the plants (moving) teeehee just like my duckling.
I used the Cottage Duck and Egg die set. (I must say love the fun little dies - w/ the face stamps). They are just as cute as can be.
I also used the lawn fawn polaroid die for the back ground frame.
The little duckling and put her/him on an action wobble. Just to make it more fun.
The ribbon is from American Crafts.
Hope you enjoy it!! I know my friend really did enjoy seeing the cute little duckling.

Halloween Goody bags
This weeks challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps is to make any project with PKS stamps. I love the Cricut Teddy Bear Parade - I think it layers nicely and you can cut a little smaller items and still make it look nice.
Since my daughter is in preschool and only has 10 total kids in the class I figured I'd make a cute little "treat" bag this year. I knew I wanted to use the PKS faces and the Teddy bear cartridge but picking just 1 of the bears was hard. She has 9 girls in her class and 1 boy. So I didn't totally want to make it all girly.
I picked up some cute little Halloween goodies - (since kids get way!!!! too much candy at Halloween I wanted something else). I found these little disc, stamps, and a puzzle and thought it would be perfect for this.
I cut the cute little bears at 2.10 " using my gypsy I hid all the lines and then stamped the cute little PKS face on them. I did the layers for the pumpkin outfit.
I added them to a top note template I made a while back for the tops of such treat bags. The bags are 4x6 and work perfectly for these.
Since there is a boy I didn't want all pink either so I used the green card stock from DCWV Bewitched mat stacks. The orange/green paper is from Michael's.
Hope you enjoy and

Ghost Night Out...
So I always love a good challenge and this week at Peachy Keen stamps the challenge was to follow a sketch. I love sketches and love being able to CHANGE them to make it my way. I try to find an element and run with that. This weeks sketch is this
Well I saw a couple of things in this sketch and made a little layout for Halloween for this.
I wanted to use the big circle - and make it the "moon" - then the haunted house and the ghost flying by. Then for the middle section - I made those the photo mat area and then the bottom is the orange polka dot.
The paper is from DCWV - Bewitched paper stack, and mat stacks. Can I just say I love the DCWV paper stacks!!!
I stamped the cute little Ghost w/ PKS ghost stamp - notice they are flying around and then one hiding.. I wanted to make it appear as if the ghost was flying away from the haunted house so I inked my stamp - stamped, did not reink and stamped again.
I added a few little spiders - from Create a Critter 2 -cartridge. LOVE IT!! Just too cute for little critters.
I added googlie eyes for the spiders.
The pumpkins were colored w/ spectrum noir marker, and prima pencils and then used my orange sakura pen.
The cute little banner stickers are from SRM stickers.
The moon was created by using TH - distress stamps.
The sentiment stamp was from Emma's stamps http://www.creativetimeforme.com/.
Hope you enjoy and

PKS Challenge 31 3D Box
OK So I know Halloween is only a few months away. When I saw the Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge the other day I knew what I wanted to make. I wanted to make a cute little treat box.
I initially was going to make monsters but I didn't want it to be "scary" so I changed it up and made these adorable little PKS Mini Ghost.
I made the Take out box set at 10.25" from the Sweet Treat cricut cartridge. I also cut the fence at 3.5" wide - from the Mini Monster cartridge. I used the shadow feature and the fence.
I then stamped the cute little mini ghost and cut him out. I paper pierced the pumpkins.
The paper is DCWV - Ghost and Goblins (plaid), and DCWV brown, and DCWV orange.
I added some platenium ink to the fence, and the ghost. (It actually looks like an old falling apart fence). I also inked the brown edges w/ chestnut chalk.
I think this turned out pretty cute and maybe I"ll make a few more for some one's preschool class to put on the tables for the little parties.
Hope you enjoy and

PKS Challenge #29
This week at Peachy Keen Stamps was to follow a color challenge. I love color challenges as they allow me to think about ways to make a card/project with colors I normally would not. I'm sure most have a certain color they normally us. I know I do.
I made a cute little 5x5 card. I didn't put a sentiment on it yet as I don't know what I'll use it for.
I used some Bazzill cream color card stock, DCWV mat stack for the purple, and DCWV for the yellow chevron. I colored the cutie with my Spectrum Noir markers. I then paper pieced her dress and bow to give it a little bit of dimension.
The little girl is from the Vivienne set.
I added a few little Roxy gems from Queen & Co. on the bottom and a few little smokey colored rhinestones on her collar.
For some highlights I used my Sakura Gelly Roll pen in Gold dust. Just a little shimmer.
Hope you enjoy and

PKS Challenge #27
This week at PKS Stamp was to follow a sketch. I love sketch challenges as it gives me a starting point. I needed to make a thank you card for a friend who watched my daughter the other day so my hubby and I could go to the ball game.
Well my friend has 2 girls a few years older than my daugther and so she sent her home with a cute pair of "heels" they are darling - her girls can't wear them any longer so she gave them to my daughter. So for a thank you I'll be getting her a little GC and made this card.
I used the sketch at PKS and changed it up a little.
I used scrapes of paper. I know the pretty decorative paper is from SEI Couture line.
I cut the shoes from Paisley at 1.5" - added a few rhinestones and there is my card.
Hope you enjoy and

PKS Challenge 25
So on Friday I received some new PKS Stamps. Let me 1st off say they have WONDERFUL customer service. I placed the order on Tuesday night and had my stamps on Friday AM. (I am sure I would of had them earlier but Wednesday was a holiday).
When I saw this stamp set I knew w/o a doubt I HAD to have it. So I bought it and love it more and more each time I use them.
I bought the Fairy Mini set, and the Flower Power stamps. I wanted to color the flowers yellow so I used my new Spectrum Noir markers. Can I just say if your a copic person you will may love the Spectrum Noir markers, too.
The challenge was to use chalk. I have a few different types of chalk. I have a liquid chalk, chalk pens, and a little EK success chalk circle.
I started off coloring the little fairy -- she's a cutie for sure. I then chalked her little cheeks and then worked on the flowers. I colored them all w/ different colors of yellow, then used my green chalk on a tip of a stump to color the centers. I inked the edges w/ liquid chalk by SEI in the turquoise. I didn't like all the WHITE from the card stock so I added a soft touch of turquoise chalks w/ a felt adapter. In person you can really see the soft color takes away from the stark white.
I hope you enjoy and I'll be entering this at PKS Challenge.
Have a great day and

Thank you card
I've always said crafting helps to make friends. Well this card is for a friend I meet via the Cricut Circle club. Last year we meet at a local meet up - and then a few days later we ran into each other again. About 3 weeks passed and we saw each other again at a LSS that was closing - we talked and then exchanged emails. I really didn't have allot of scrap booking friends in my area so it was nice to chat about scrap booking/crafting stuff. Well her and I have become good friends over the past year. We see each other about 1 or 2 times a month. Normally we meet up at another LSS to shop and talk. We've even gone to a crop 2 hours away from the house. So I would say she and I have become great friends.
She is one giving person!!!! She knows my birthday is coming and she wanted to surprise me with something fun. She has known for a while that I wanted a cuttlebug. So being the giving person she is she bought me one. WHAT???? I know what a GREAT friend.
I wanted to Thank her so I made this little card. She loves BLUE and Dolphins. So off to play in the craft room I went. Besides this gave me reason to play with my new toy. Right!!!.
I used Out of Character Cricut cartridge - it has the jumbled THANKS on it. I thought it was fun. I wanted to doddle on it to. The front of the card is a dolphin - from Pack your bags. I know it's pretty simple looking but it did take a few minutes to cut the inside card.
I used the Stamped Thanks from PKS set Vivienne and Friends.
Hope you enjoy and

PKS Color challenge
*** This fabric was super hard to find so if your looking good luck**** It took us 6 stores in 3 states to find it. :)
I used some Cord'nations paper that I bought at the scrapbook show a few weeks ago. It had the purple, a green (the green is actually a dark green but for some reason it keeps photoing like a "lime" color), and gray in the package. I found some teal/aqua from my stash - and the darker blue is from SEI.
Since my daughter loves to "flutter" around the house like a butterfly/bird and never really stays put I thought it would be fun to make these cute butterfly birds. I also loved the saying.
Cartridge - 3 Birds on parade - birds cut at 2 1/2, and 2 both w/ layer/shadow
Arts Philosophy - Square 8 - cut at 10" (which is the dotted blue layer).
Arts Philosophy - banners cut at 1"
PKS stamps for the birds eyes/smiles Critter faces.
PKS stamp for "You're a doll" from the Vivienne and friends
I hope you enjoyed and this was really a challenge but I always love the PKS challenges.
Hope you enjoy and

PKS challenge -
This weeks challenge at PKS was to make anything you wanted as long as you used PKS stamps.
I know they are known for their great faces but I like the simple sayings too. This saying is from PK 277 - Vivienne and Friends. I thought it was simple yet perfect.
I used SEI Winnie's Wall paper and cut the blower basket from the Bloom cartridge at 4" w/ the layers. I also cut out the little tag from Bloom at 1 1/2"
Stickles added to the green flower and a few rhinestones.
Hope you enjoy and

3D Object using a soup can
So for this weeks challenge at PKS was to use a soup can and make a 3d object. I have near and dear friend having a birthday in a few weeks so I figured I'd made something for her.
I used a soup can that was cleaned and made this cute little sucker bouquet.
Create a Critter - cats - cut at 3" w/ all layers (except I hide the face so I can put PKS faces on them).
Create a Critter - pinwheels- cut at 4" - w/ shadow and layer - I attached those to the suckers to make a cute little bouquet.
Create a Critter - circle (from the pin wheel) - at 3" and used the real dial size for the lid.
The dot/stripe is from imaginisce.
PKS face - Happy Lashes and Critter faces.
Hope you enjoy and

Turtle Creek
Well last week my daughter's preschool went to Turtle Creek Farm here where we live. Let's just say 30 very excited kiddos had a blast. This isn't your typical farm. They had Emu's, Lamas, chickens, pigs, alligators, sheep, ducks, an albino hedge hog, a huge tortoise, and even European Deer. The kids had a blast and Ms. Lucy surely loves teaching these kids a thing or two about animals. She was so wonderful and my little girl keeps asking to go back and see Ms. Lucy. The preschool has now done this trip 25 years.
I think one of the highlights of this field trip was feeding the animals. My daughter loved to feed the chickens, the ducks, the sheep. The other highlight was my daughter holding the animals she loved to hold them including the snake (ewwww), and the baby alligator.
Ok enough about the farm here's the layout I made for this. When I saw the challenge at PKS I knew instantly that I wanted to use this paper. This weeks challenge at PKS was to use specific colors:
Kraft paper for the base
Imaginisce Happy camper line I think this paper is perfect has most of the colors. I added a splash of yellow.
Create a Critter - Chicken, Hedge Hog, and Pig all cut at 2.5"
Create a critter - Alligator cut at 2"
Create a Critter - grass - 1", 1.5", 2"
Banner - Arts Philosophy - 1"
Billionaire - Letters cut at 3/4"
PKS stamps for the chicken, hedge hot and pig
The layout came from a Sketch that I really love from http://www.sketchsavvy.blogspot.com/. What great inspiration for different designs.
Since this has a small banner on it too I'll be using it for another entry in the Magazine challenge on the Cricut circle blog. This month was to make a banner - and you can also enter as many times as you want. I love that.
Hope you enjoy and

Create a Critter Braclet and Thank you Card.
So my daughter's Preschool class is going tomorrow to a really cool farm. This isn't your usual farm. It has all kinds of different animals. My daughter is soooo excited. She actually asked if she can make something for Ms. Lucy the director. I told her sure. She instantly said a sheep. I figured then to make a cute little card for her to thank her for all her time and hard work. We've been there before with the moms group about 2 years ago so she really wasn't old enough to understand.
So for Ms. Lucy I thought she would like a little bracelet to show our appreciation. This lady is incredible - she does hundreds of tours and really loves doing it for the kids.
Create a Critter - Lamb card - cut at 3"
All the characters for the bracelet are cut Create a Critter at 3") on SHRINKY dinks. Yes that is correct Shrinky dinks.
They cut perfectly on the cricut and came out perfectly.
I didn't have any Laser SDs so I used the frost and colored them all by hand w/ my copics.
I then stamped the PKS faces on each one.
I then used my heat tool to shrink them and added them to a jump ring and onto a bracelet.
I stamped a simple little Thank you on the inside.
This is an easel style card.
I made 7 total animals - all of these animals are on her "farm". Like I said it's not your average farm. Yes it has your typical farm animals, goats, pigs, sheep, bunnies. Now there is a new baby alligator, and several new chicks. She even has a hedgehog. So this was 100% perfect for the farm.
I hope she and you like it and
