Emma's Throwback Thursday

She's back with her wonderful Throwback Thursday. Yes that is right Emma from http://www.creativetimeforme.com/. Is back. For this throwback she asked that we use the "dolls" cartridge. I can say I have that cartridge, but I had a really hard time sizing my "clothes" for my dolls. I was going to make a Raggedy Ann/Andy couple, but I got so frustrated and elected to change my "couple". I think this one was cuter.

Have you checked out Emma's new stamps? No? Well, what are you waiting for. These stamps are so adorable. I love them. I bought 2 sets. I bought the "You had me at Chocolate and Color Me Happy.

For this Challenge there were 2 requirements:
Use the Paper Doll Dress up or Everyday Paperdolls and to use either wet or dry embossing.

I used Paper Doll Dress up
The cute little horse was cut at 3 1/2" and unicorn was cut at 3".

The paper I used
Catterbox - Olive Garden Plaid
SEI Pink
White "shimmer" paper

I used some new Twine from Pink Cricut
For the eyes they are just cute little diamond rhinestones
The cute little hearts are "dry" embossed. I don't own a cuttlebug so I did it the old fashion way with the brass stencils and an embossing tool.

I think they turned out pretty cute.

SEI Challenges with Abby

She's BACK... Yes Abby from http://www.scrapbookaholicbyabby.com/. is back hosting another wonder SEI challenge. Let me just tell you I have my favorite papers yes, but this new SEI line will soon be among my newest favorite I am sure. The new paper line she is given away to the winner is "With All My Heart".
This weeks theme was "Smile or Laughter". My daughter always makes my husband and I smile. She is sweet, silly, and all girl. So I made a cute little layout for photos of my daughter. I haven't figured out which ones I want to put in yet.
I used:
SEI papers Brown is a basic SEI paper
The Pink Scallop was cut at 11.5 on my Expression using the Sugar and Spice Cartridge. I used Christmas Mint (cinnamint) paper.
The Pink/ and pretty heart/bird paper was from Songbird
The letters were all from Rock Princess. That has to be one of my favorite cartridges just for the font alone. I love the cute little hearts on each of the letters.
The twine bows are from Pink Cricut ( I used the cotton candy twine). I think I just found a new accessory I just love.
I hope you enjoy and happy Scrappin'

Denami Blog Hop

The Front

Details

A couple of years ago I was introduced to DeNami stamps at a scrapbook convention. While I am not a huge stamper; although, I have been stamping a lot more lately. I fell in love with DeNami stamps. They were just so cute. I fell in love with the little "Chickies". They just had an oh so sweet little personality. It was there that I bought my 1st DeNami stamp, "Sweet Christmas Chickies". So, it is only appropriate in honor of the blog hop that I use that stamp.

There are a total of 23 wonderful and talented participants in the hop. DeNami will be giving out Three $20.00 Gift Certificates (might I say is fantastic), for a better chance at winning leave a comment on each of the blogs. You will have until January 10, 2010, 11:59pm PST.

If you are coming from Melissa's blog http://studio-m-crafts.blogspot.com/ then you are on the right track. If you would like to start at the beginning or get lost you can head over to http://www.denami.blogspot.com/.

Please leave a comment, as it always makes my day and then head over to
Pat's blog at: http://patqcards.wordpress.com.

I used some "scraps" I had to make the card.
I have this really pretty purple/blue/ gold metallic paper for the base.
The Yellow is from Bazzil
The pink is from SEI
Ribbon from my stash
I colored the stamp with my Copics and Marvy Matchables Garden Set markers.
The border punch is from Martha Stewart
For a little more punch I added stickles and some pretty Rhinestones.
The stitching is done with a white gel pen

I hope you enjoy,
Happy Scrappin'

Emma's BACK..

Yes that is correct Emma from http://www.creativetimeforme.com/ is BACK. This weeks Throwback Thursday is Valentine or Heart. She let us use what ever cartridge as long as there was a heart somewhere. Well I had an idea of a "Tic Tac Heart" board. I think it turned our really cute.

The card is at 5" The scallop cut is from Cindy Loo.

The card base is cut from Craft Cardstock

The red is Bazzil

I had some really pretty "Paisley" patterned paper that I have no clue what it is from. It has some red, pinks, blue in it. I just love it though.
Then I used SEI for the pink hearts.

The pink hearts are from Doodlecharms.

The "X" is from Gypsy Font.

I used some Pink stickles to accent them.

The pink Heart in the middle is pop dotted.

Stiching with my white gel pen.

*** Here's a tip - store your pen writing end down and flick it a couple of times and it will really get the ink to flow smoothly. ***

Happy Scrappin'

Don't forget Emm'a Ustream on Friday Night.

Welcome to the Dia Reyes Blog Hop sponsored by Gaby from http://www.gabycreates.com/. A few weeks ago I was honored that Gaby had asked me to participate in this blog hope. Initially I was shocked and then I became scared. I have never ever been asked to be part of a blog hop. I have only "hopped" along. I actually made 2 cards, because I thought just about the 1 side of the Three Kings, after Ready Gaby's statement about the Three Kings I made a different one.
If you haven't had the chance read about other cultures traditions I would highly recommend it.

So Gaby is doing something a little different with her hop, hope it will be fun for you all.
Here are the Rules:
You must leave a comment on each of the designers blog to be eligible for the grand prize.
Along the way some designers will have a word. You will need to collect those words and then email the phrase to Gaby.

Sorry: I don't have a word or phrase but please leave a comment and Hop to the next project.

Here is some more information The presents are not received on Christmas, for Christmas is a celebration of Life of Our Savior.
The children's celebration of receiving presents is not until January 6th, "el día de Reyes", the day of the Kings, or the Wise Men Day. It is the Magi who brought the presents to the Baby Jesus, thus, they bring the toys to the boys and girls who have been good. The children place their shoes by the window, so the Magi place the present in the shoe. It the present is bigger than the shoe, it will be placed next to it. Many children, get a new pair of shoes for a present.

El dia de Reyes is celebrated with a "Merienda" consisting of hot chocolate and "The Rosca de Reyes". "La Merienda is the meal that takes. place any time between 5 P.M. and 7 P.M. it is not a heavy meal but the equivalent of "High Tea".

The Rosca de Reyes is a big oval wreath made out of egg bread (like an egg bagel, but huge) with dry fruit decorations and sprinkled sugar on top, but inside, there is a little ceramic doll which represents the Baby Jesus. The person who gets the piece of bread with the Baby, must be the Godparent of the Baby Jesus in the celebration of the Candelaria, on February 2nd.
