My Favorite Valentines Card.

Congrats to Gaby at http://www.gabycreates.com/. on her 1 year blog. She is so talented and super sweet. I love looking at her projects. She is just so talented. So to celebrate she is hosting a Blog Linking Party. She is allowing everyone to participate and play along by posting, "Your Favorite Valentines Project".

So this year I did the crafty thing for Valentines day. I made my hubby a sweet little card. I was "Playing" with my new cartridge - Sweethearts and made a different cards. I posted a similar one here previously http://scrappinwiththebug.blogspot.com/2011/02/sei-challenges-with-abby-2.html. Well I played around some more and made a special card for my WONDERFUL hubby. I am so thankful for him. He has been truly one of the best things in my life. My gift from him (actually for both of us ) was to get a new bath and shower surround. I love it.

Ok back to my card here is what I used.
Kraft cardstock
SEI pink paper, and button
The Bazzil dark pink (which I love) is called Pomegranate Metallic.
The twine I bought from http://www.pinkcricut.com/ (sample pack).
The Be Mine stamp is from Emma at http://www.creativetimeforme.com/.
The hearts all from the Sweetheart Cartridge.

Hope you enjoy and hop over to Gaby's blog and wish her a Happy Anniversary.

Happy Scrappin'

Cricut Sisters Monday Challenge

So I was checking out different blogs and came across this challenge. I had to make a card for a 2 year old's birthday so I thought hey might as well make it a Create a Critter card. I made this adorable little train card for my daughter's little playmate. He will be tomorrow.

Here is the challenge I entered him in http://pattilynncreations.blogspot.com/2011/02/cricut-sisters-monday-challenge-our.html.
Isn't the cute little Monkey engineer just adorable. I love the train.
I used the idea from Emma at http://www.creativetimeforme.com/. She did this train a while back and it was so cute. She did a Giraffe and and Lion. I did the Monkey and Dino. I used my Gypsy to weld the Dino to the train, and I flipped him around.
I used SEI Playtime for the blue papers, and the blue and white is also from SEI (I can't remember the line).
Kraft cardstock from Joann's
The yellow is just from my stash.
I used brown and blue buttons for the wheels.
SEI googlie eyes for the Dino and the Monkey
The train was cust at 4.25" , the Monkey cut at 2" , and the Dino is at 3.25"
The stamp is from Pink Cricut (Pinkbydesign) "Take the cake".

SEI Challenges with Abby #2

Well I did it again, seems like lately I have been waiting until the very very last minute to enter some challenges. This time was no different. I finally was able to get into my craft room to play. I have purchased a few new things and wanted to really start playing with them. Nothing major, a few new cartridges, twine, and some really pretty paper.

I made a super simple but very pretty card.

I used:
Bazzil Kraft, White metallic, Raspberry metallic, and Pink metallic paper. I know GASP.. NO SEI.
The cartridges used were:
Cake Basics
George and basic shapes
Sweethearts (my new toy and probably going to be a favorite).

The card it self is 4.35 x 4.25 (I know its strange but I find that if you add .10 additional to the shape it allows you to have a perfect card). This gives you a little extra so if you want to stitch it is a perfect fit. The fold compensates for a little and instead of only having a very small area to stitch/mat you have the correct size.

The White mat was cut at 4.00 x 4.00
The hearts were all cut from Sweethearts cartridge, at 1.64. I love how the hearts have several that you could layer or leave by themselves.

The sentiment is from Emma's at http://www.creativetimeforme.com/ 1st released stamp set, "You Had Me At Chocolate".

I added some bling by using Rhinestones in pink.

Hope you enjoy and Happy Scrappin'
