DECEMBER MONTHLY CHALLENGE: Holiday Gift Wrapping Challenge!

The monthly Challenge for the Cricut blog was to create a beautiful gift wrapping.

Rules and Guidelines: Circle Blog Challenges are open to Cricut Circle Members only. Your project must be newly created for this challenge and include atleast 2 Cricut Image Cuts. You must submit a project to be entered into the Challenge Prize Drawing.

My daughter has 2 teachers for her preschool so I made them both a cute little present and the wrapping is these cute little boxes.

I used Sweet tooth boxes and cut the Chinese take out container at 10". I followed the directions to make the containers. I figured what went inside the box would fit perfectly in these.

The tags are from Arts Philosophy and cut at 2.5" --

The little bow is from the new digital cartridge 3D bows.

The stamp sentiment is from Emma at http://www.creativetimeforme.com/ stamp set called All Around Christmas. The little circle and scallop is from Emma's stiched scallop/circle die set. Let me tell you I only own a Cuttlebug Kids and this works perfectly in it.
The paper is from Michaels - Recollections line - and is called Sugar Plums let me just tell you I had to buy 2 of them as they are so beautiful. Some have glitter and some are just plain but they all are so sweet.

I would suggest making a practice one 1st and don't glue the "Wrong" sides together. I really like how these turned out. The next post I'll show you want is in the BOX.

NOVEMBER EXCLUSIVE SOPHIE CARTRIDGE CONTEST!

This months Cricut Magazine Challenge was to use the Sophie cartridge. I must admit I got it and put it on the shelf and hadn't played with it until recently. Can I just say there are some mighty pretty little doilies, and other cuts. I think I"ll be using this cartridge more often now.

So here is the Magazine challenge rules:

We love our darling Sophie cartridge so much that we want to feature it in this month’s contest! Use your exclusive cartridge to create something fabulous for the upcoming holidays!

So for this I made a cute little house I thought that when I saw some of the fancy cuts I was trying to figure out how to make it work for this little house.

I know your looking for the Sophie cuts trust me they are there.

Here is how I made the Box -

It is cut from the "House on Sweet Treat" cut at 10".

Then I attached the layers of the door, the "grass" which I changed up and made it white for snow. I didn't put the flower boxes as I knew that I'd be making this more Christmas style.

IF you look out my front door right now there is a ton of snow so this really kind of mimics my house and is where I got the inpiration from. There is also the roof cut from Sweet treats but then it's all changed from there.

I was looking through the book on Sophie to figure out how I was going to make the shingles. Trust me I had several thoughts in my head and none of those were looking just right. So I turned to my Wonderful Hubby and asked him -- after all he took tons of drafting classes and has a degree as an engineer. HE then looked at the book and saw this cute little "shingle". He told me to use the Accent 4 - and then cut them in half. TaDa it worked. I think it layered nicely to form Shingles.

I cut 40 Accent 4 base pieces at 2" each - cut in half.

The snowflakes are cut at 1.5" from the Doily Snowflake function. I cut 8 of those added some Stickles for some sparkle.

I then cut the Doily at 5" and trimmed around it to make the garland hanging outside of the windows.

The final cut was the adorable little Christmas tree - just used some red paper and green paper (scraps) and cut that 2 times at 3" -- then of course added some pretty Ruby Stickles.

I put this all together - can I just say it just sparkles. I added some Star Dust stickles to the snow just like real snow glistens when it 1st falls. I think I might put some little cookies in this and give to my neighbor.
