Graduation Banner

A few weeks ago a friend asked me if I would make a banner for her daughter who is graduation from high school. The colors are royal blue and silver. She just gave me a size wanted and the name and told me I had free rain for the rest.

I went with the traditional Congratulations and her name then I added some additional banners w/ the fun graduate, diploma, class of and a few little stars.

Banners were cut at 5" w/ the shadow feature from Birthday Bash
The letters were all cut from Something to Remember at 3" - 3.2" I used my gypsy to size them accordingly.
I also did the shadow function with those.
The girl was from Paper dolls - and I used the "hide" feature so I could stamp some PKS faces on them. She was cut at 3.5"

The Class of 2013- I did again with the gypsy and sized the letters at 1.6 and welded them together.

The diploma was cut at 1.5" from Wrap it up. (You know those cartridges you forget about when buy them having awesome fun features).

I since she only wanted Royal Blue and silver I pop dotted the letters up so they would really stand out on the banner.

The paper is Cord'inations - royal blue and some light weight silver paper from bazzill.

Hope you enjoy and Happy Scrappin'

Tea Party

So this week at Preschool they are having a Tea Party. I thought it would be pretty fun to make a cute little banner for my daughters preschool room. I used some basic card stock - since these are 3,4, and 5 year olds I didn't think they needed anything fancy.
I used a paper pack from Michael's - it has greens, pinks, yellow and brown. So I thought it would be girly w/o being over girly. After all there are about 10 boys in her class.

Arts Philosophy - Banner cut w/ layer at 7"  -decorative function key
Kate's ABC - Letters cut at 2" w/ shadow layer
Birthday Cakes - Tea pot 3"  w/ layers
Birthday Cakes - Tea cup 2 1/2 w/ layers

I had some basic raffia so I just used that for the string.

I added some pop dots for the tea pot and the tea cup.

Hope you enjoy  and

Birthday Banner

So yesterday I made a cute little frog castle so today I made another cute little birthday item for her. Shhhh don't tell she didn't know I did this. I asked her if she had a banner she told me no she was going to purchase one -so as a surprise I made this.

I kept w/ the theme and since I printed off all the paper I went ahead and used that to make this banner.

Rock Princess - for the letters cut at 3" and the diamond gems cut at 4"
Create a critter - Frogs cut at 3" w/ shadow and layer

I used my Crop a Dile to punch 3/16" holes and then set the eyelets.
Ribbon is from Michael's
The top accent on the gem is just a border punch

Here the first few photos I added them to my large chest freezer next to where I scrapbook/craft. I then wanted to lay the whole banner out so I put on the carpet. The only problem is taking a photo of something that long. So I staggered them to touch and made it work.
I actually made them 2 separate banners so they could determine where/how they want to place them. Not sure if they will do one long or split them up.

I'll be entering this into the Magazine challenge on the Cricut blog - which is unlimited entries again this month.

Hope you enjoy and
Happy Scrappin'

Turtle Creek

Well last week my daughter's preschool went to Turtle Creek Farm here where we live. Let's just say 30 very excited kiddos had a blast. This isn't your typical farm. They had Emu's, Lamas, chickens, pigs, alligators, sheep, ducks, an albino hedge hog, a huge tortoise, and even European Deer. The kids had a blast and Ms. Lucy surely loves teaching these kids a thing or two about animals. She was so wonderful and my little girl keeps asking to go back and see Ms. Lucy. The preschool has now done this trip 25 years.
I think one of the  highlights of this field trip was feeding the animals. My daughter loved to feed the chickens, the ducks, the sheep. The other highlight was my daughter holding the animals she loved to hold them including the snake (ewwww), and the baby alligator.

Ok enough about the farm here's the layout I made for this. When I saw the challenge at PKS I knew instantly that I wanted to use this paper. This weeks challenge at PKS was to use specific colors:
Kraft paper for the base
Imaginisce Happy camper line  I think this paper is perfect has most of the colors. I added a splash of yellow.
Create a Critter - Chicken,  Hedge Hog, and Pig all cut at 2.5"
Create a critter - Alligator cut at 2"
Create a Critter - grass - 1", 1.5", 2"
Banner - Arts Philosophy - 1"
Billionaire - Letters cut at 3/4"

PKS stamps for the chicken, hedge hot and pig

The layout came from a Sketch that I really love from http://www.sketchsavvy.blogspot.com/. What great inspiration for different designs.

Since this has a small banner on it too I'll be using it for another entry in the Magazine challenge on the Cricut circle blog. This month was to make a banner - and you can also enter as many times as you want. I love that.

Hope you enjoy and

HSN banner contest

I made this banner for the HSN E2 launch.

The requirements were simple it had to be at Provo Craft by a specific date and the banner could be anything as long as it spelled Cricut.

I had a cute idea to use Campin' Critters cartridge and have the characters hold the banner.

I forgot to take a photo of it strung out - w/ the cording. I probably went through 4 different looks before I found one I liked to string it out.

It did air on the HSN show at 11:00 hour on September 26th. While it was not a winner for the E2 it surely was fun making it.

I have loveved seeing my fellow "Cricuts" banners the ones that won were truely AWESOME.

The large deer/moose were cut at 11"

The banners were at 4.5

The cute little guys were cut at around 2 - 4" depending on what they were.

I did add a few sparkles and gliter to some items, and also added flocking to the antlears of the deer and moose.

Hope you Enjoy.
